Gentle Pet Aquamation & Memorial Services in West Palm Beach
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. Whether the loss is unexpected or you’ve had time to prepare, choosing how to honor your companion is a deeply personal decision.
Monarch Pet Memorial Services in West Palm Beach offers families a compassionate alternative to traditional pet cremation called aquamation, also known as water cremation.
Founded by veterinarian Dr. Mary Gardner, Monarch is a family-run pet aftercare business dedicated to treating every animal with dignity and respect. Its facility on Georgia Avenue provides a peaceful setting where families can learn about their options, say goodbye, and find meaningful ways to remember their pets.
Aquamation is a water-based alternative to traditional flame cremation.
Instead of fire, the process uses water, alkalinity, and controlled conditions to gently break down the body’s soft tissues, leaving bone remains that are dried and processed into ashes.
For families considering their pet’s environmental impact, aquamation offers an alternative that avoids the direct combustion associated with flame cremation.
Monarch specializes in this process for dogs, cats, and other companion animals, including birds, reptiles, and small pets.
Monarch offers two main aquamation options, allowing families to choose what feels right for them.
Private Pet Aquamation
Your pet is cared for individually, and their ashes are returned to you in a personalized urn.
Monarch’s private cremation package includes memorial keepsakes such as a clay paw impression, an ink paw print, a fur clipping, a memorial bookmark, and a personalized cremation certificate.
Communal Pet Aquamation
Pets are cared for together during communal aquamation, and individual ashes are not returned.
Instead, Monarch respectfully scatters the ashes at sea, generally once a month, weather permitting. Families can receive the date and geographic coordinates of the scattering as a meaningful place of remembrance.
Memorial keepsakes may also be requested with communal arrangements.
If your pet passes at home or at a veterinary clinic, Monarch can help arrange transportation to its West Palm Beach facility.
Families may request pickup directly from their home or coordinate through their veterinarian, even if the veterinary practice does not regularly work with Monarch.

Families can arrange a private viewing or visitation before their pet’s aquamation.
Sometimes it’s the smallest reminders that mean the most.
