Canine Corner at Dreher Park is made up of two separate, but adjoining, fenced areas: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Within this well-shaded park are covered benches, waste receptacles for each dog play area, agility equipment, as well as doggie and human water fountains. This park’s landscape is not only filled with Banyan trees but there are also numerous hills throughout.
Outside Canine Corner, Dheher Dog Park, there are eight acres of ponds. These ponds have fishing docks that are open to the public. The ponds are habitat to soft shell turtles, various birds, and fish that are native to South Florida. There is also a heart-shaped walking trail on the perimeter of Dreher Park.
This park has ample parking and public restrooms. The park is managed/operated by the West Palm Beach Parks and Recreation Department.
Pet Junction First Impressions: First of all, a drive through Dreher Park is beautiful in itself, but then you get to the dog park and it’s just as beautiful as the rest of the park. Once you pull into the Canine Corner at Dreher Park parking, it’s a quick jot up a sidewalk lined with fire hydrants…so cute. As you approach you notice a main entrance then a big dog entrance to the right and a small dog entrance to the left. Both sides contain a water fountain and both sides have a lot of trees and shade which is nice on a hot sticky day. The benches are few and far between but there are some.
The only thing we would be concerned with is the wood fence that lines one side of the sections. We would suggest a quick once-over to make certain there are no holes for your dog to slip through. It did seem fairly secure but always better safe than sorry. All in all, this dog park is a great choice as it has plenty of room to run and play!
